Hello Dunsmuir Families,
We have welcomed grade 6, 7, and 8 student back to school. It was great to see so many students back eager to begin the school year. Much of their initial time at school was spent acquainting them to safety protocols and standards that are in place. While school will look different this year, we are all looking forward to being back and getting comfortable with the routines and structures in place. I wanted to remind parents of couple of items as we move forward:
In the interest of clarity, if you have selected REMOTE LEARNING, this is a 100% commitment until the dates mentioned in the letter sent home last Wednesday (Following Remembrance Day, Winter Break or Spring Break are the reentry points). A child doing REMOTE LEARNING CAN NOT come to school for class until one of the prearranged entry dates and a commitment is made to full time face to face instruction. Students participating in remote learning retain their space at DMS. Students who arrive to school, will be removed from the REMOTE LEARNING registration.
If you selected REMOTE LEARNING but have sent your child to school, your child’s teacher will contact you shortly to discuss and gain a commitment as to your intention moving forward. The decision made is what your child will be registered for. It has been VERY difficult to track REMOTE LEARNERS and we need accurate numbers as soon as possible for planning purposes.
If you selected REMOTE LEARNING and did not send your child to school, they will of course remain a remote learner until you commit to returning at one of the entry points specified.
September 18: Picture Day for ON SITE LEARNERS (STUDENTS)
November 3: Picture Day for Remote Learners AND retake day- more information about Remote Learners and Picture Day (schedule) will be available closer to the date.
