  • Reminder: Cell Phone Use at School

Students are reminded that cell phones must stay in backpacks all daynot in pockets.

Phones should not be taken out or used until students are outside of the school building at the end of the day.

Things went smoothly during the first month of school, but we’ve noticed that some students are starting to forget this important rule. Let’s keep things on track—thanks for your cooperation!

Important Reminder: Staying on School Property

Once students arrive at school, they must stay on school property. This includes before the bell in the morning.

For safety reasons, students are not allowed to leave campus at any time during the school day unless signed out by a parent or guardian.

Did you know that most bullying stops in 10 seconds when someone steps in? If you see someone being bullied, don’t just stand by—be an upstander! You can do this by speaking up, getting help from an adult, or supporting the person being targeted. Even a small act, like standing beside someone who’s being left out, can make a huge difference.

Let’s be a school that stands up for each other!

Good morning, Dunsmuir! Do you know how Pink Shirt Day started? It all began when two high school students in Nova Scotia stood up for a younger student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. They bought dozens of pink shirts and encouraged others to wear them in support. Their small act of kindness sparked a global movement! This week, let’s focus on kindness, inclusion, and standing up for each other. Stay tuned for more ways to get involved!

Did you know that the words you choose can make a huge impact? A kind word can brighten someone’s day, but hurtful words can leave scars that last much longer. This week, we challenge you to use your words to lift others up instead of tearing them down. Give a compliment, encourage a friend, or simply say hello to someone new. Remember—kindness is powerful!

As Anti-Bullying Week comes to an end, remember that kindness, respect, and standing up for others should happen all year round. Think about how you can make a positive impact every day. Smile at someone in the hallway, invite a new person to join your group, and always choose kindness. Together, we can make our school a place where everyone feels safe and valued!
