The grade 6/7 boys’ have a meeting today RIGHT AWAY at lunch today in Ms. Caldwell’s portable.  You need to attend to get your jerseys and discuss rides to the game today at Gordon Head. Our first game is at 4:15.

IMPORTANT DATES:

TRANSITION TO ROYAL BAY SECONDARY FOR GRADE 8 STUDENTS
All Dunsmuir Middle School Students will naturally transition to Royal Bay Secondary School. Please be sure your child completes the course selection form and returns it to their homeroom teacher. There is nothing more that you need to do to ensure your child has a spot at Royal Bay Secondary.
If you your child is a Dunsmuir student, but wants to attend Belmont Secondary School, you need to complete a school change request. This is easiest completed online on the SD62 Website, under Parents http://www.sd62.bc.ca/parents/registration/.

ATTENDANCE
It is really helpful for the school, if your child will be away, to please call our attendance line at 250-478-5548 ext 223.  These absences will be excused on their record.

ACADEMY INFORMATION NIGHT – FEB. 28th
If you are interested in learning about the Dance and or Soccer academy offered by SD62 and hosted at Dunsmuir Middle School, please come out to the information session on February 28, 2019. Vice Principal of Academies, Wayne Kelly will facilitate the evening.
The information session begins at 6:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room and will include a rundown of each program, application process, as well as a tour of the dance studio for those interested in dance.

LOS ANGELES 2020 INFO NIGHT
Updated: Los Angeles 2020 Info Night: Dunsmuir students and parents (new!) will have the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles in March 2020. This trip will be open to parents and students who will be in Grades 7-8 next year. Parents of students that will be at Dunsmuir next year are invited to a parent information evening on Tuesday, February 19th at Dunsmuir, 6:30pm. This trip will also be offered by Royal Bay for students there next year – more info to follow. This will be a six-day trip and we will have more information on the pricing at the parent meeting. Fees are to be paid online.  See instructions below.
Parents, for those who are not familiar with the cash online, there are options for payment.  You can pay by credit, echeque and mywallet.  There is a 24 hour help line you can call at 1-866-961-1803 or email schoolcashschool@sd62.bc.ca if you need some help.
We now have 757 Consents done!  We are so close in getting our whole school signed up.  See below for instructions on getting signed up!
Are you new to our school?  Ensure you have completed the online consent form. The consent must be completed or the school cash does not have authorization to pull student information from our database. Once the consent is done, please go to this link to pay fees:

WILLY WONKA JR – FEB. 28th, MAR. 1st, MAR. 2nd
Come along and join Dunsmuir Middle School on a delicious journey as grade 6, 7, and 8 musical theatre students present: Willy Wonka Jr. on Thursday February 28th, Friday March 1st, and Saturday March 2nd. All shows begin at 7pm in the Dunsmuir gym. Tickets are available at the Dunsmuir office and are $10.00 for adult and $8.00 for student/child. Limited quantities are available at the door. Please see the attached poster for more information! We hope to see you there.

The grade 8 boys’ comp team has a practice today after school.

The grade 6/7 boys’ comp volleyball team has a game tomorrow at Lansdowne Middle School. We will be leaving the school at 2:45.

 
 

The grade 7 girls’ rec volleyball team has a practice tomorrow morning at 8 am.

Both of the grade 6 girls’ volleyball teams have a practice Thursday after school.

The grade 7/8  girls’ competitive team  has a game today after school at SMUS.  Please ask to be released at 2:45 to be at the game on time.
